Case Study # 3
The horse in these pictures is a field kept, retired mare.
Before...........
13th September 2009
These pre-trim photos above of the left fore show marked flaring with seve toe wall crack, chipping, growth rings in the hoof wall and bars, false sole and evidence of disease (infection) in the frog.
After.......
Owing to the lack of structure in the digital cushion and weak lateral cartilages, as well as the presence of a toe crack, I wrapped the front feet with Perfect Hoof Wear wraps. I did this on the 24rd of September.
15th October 2009
After just 3 weeks in wraps, the frog is larger, has greater mass and very little signs of infection. The new growth of hoof wall is more upright and the walls, bars, heels and lateral cartilage have begun to develop greater health. The toe crack has greatly diminished, particularly at the proximal (top) end of the hoof wall. This is all as a result of balancing the foot using the High Performance Trim (HPT) Method, dealing with infection, providing the correct stimulus in the form of the Perfect Hoof Wear System and most of all, allowing TIME to do its work!
The above pictures were taken pre-trim.
